If I had to narrow down what I love about my job into ONE THING, it would be the people I get to know and connect with. It has nothing to do with pretty photos, which is ironic, I know. People like Laura + Cody really just solidify that notion though. From the get-go, you can tell they have such big hearts. And when they look at each other? Omg, it’s adorable. You can just feel the respect and adoration they have for each other. They’re fun, down-to-earth, hard workers, and know how to have a good time…oh, and they’re both professional firefighters.

We knew we had to incorporate their firefighting gear somehow, so we put together a session where we aimed to really show who they are, together. And I mean…I think we did okay. :) They were both in their gear, the truck was there, they were cute as hell, it was perfect. I can’t say I’ve ever had that type of backdrop for an engagement session before, so I LOVE that we were able to pull this off! After the fire station, we switched it up and walked the trails at Theler Wetlands to get some of that good ol’ nature backdrop.

Laura + Cody are genuine. I love that they both make each other (and anyone else in the room) feel cared for. At the risk of sounding pretty cheesy, DANG. I’m so glad these two found each other in such a big world. They’re totally meant to be.
