a hood canal engagement session at twanoh state park

two musicians in love make music at sunset along the hood canal

The thing you should know about me? If you tell me that you and your partner are musicians, I’ll ask you to make sweet music together. In the park. At sunset.
K + M are full of love for each other, for life, and for adventure. They’re also both musicians, and just all around creative people. I asked them to bring their instruments along for a different kind of portrait session, and they kindly obliged.
Have you ever heard a violinist and guitar player make music together that bounces of the water and into your ears? It’s amazing. The earthiness of the notes blended so well with everything around us. Sun setting, reflecting off the water of the Hood Canal. Sigh. It was perfect.
Twanoh State Park is gorgeous; if you haven’t been, you should go. It’s a simple park, really; but the view – especially at sunset – is everything. I had been a few times before, and had envisioned a really down-to-earth portrait session between two people in love taking place there. I’m so glad K + Mwere game!
When you have the freedom to be yourself during a portrait session, magical things can happen. Thanks to these two for creating these beautiful images with me.
