a sunset engagement session on the beach in port townsend
☽
wild weather, sea spray, complimentary his & hers jackets, and swords — how much perfect could an engagement session be?

This dreamy Port Townsend engagement session was memorable to say the least — like, in the BEST way. We started out with these two and their swords (hello, GOT fans!!). Then we spent the rest of the afternoon tromping around one of my favorite places in the PNW, Port Townsend’s own Fort Worden State Park. Mama Nature had been storming it up alllll morning, but as soon as we got there, the clouds subsided. The rough, crashing waves and intense ocean spray stayed. Score.
Jac + Tommy have such good vibes. I know I’m lucky enough to feel that about 99.9% of couples I work with, but no two couples’ vibes are exactly the same. These two have the best type of connection – they’re romantic and silly and treat each other with trust and respect. They were down for alllll the fun, even when a wave snuck up and soaked their shoes.
Having your engagement session in Port Townsend means going on an adventure and making the kind of memories you’ll never forget. You can frolic at Fort Worden State Park like these two did, or head over to North Beach, Chetzemoka Park, Kah Tai Lagoon Nature Park, or strolling downtown through the Victorian-era buildings.
Sessions like these remind me how much I love what I do. The rush that comes along with meeting semi-strangers on the beach, making something interesting with them, and leaving as friends is so cool. It’s a level of connection and artistry that I’ve never felt in other careers.
